The first week of the season has been full of social media posts, and it seems like everyone is talking about the upcoming playoffs.
The last thing we need is another year of bad social media in a league that has had some of the best seasons in league history.
There’s a lot of data on the social media engagement and rankings of the teams in the playoffs, and the ESPN Stats & Info team created a list of the top 30 players on Twitter this season.
Here are the top players on each team who have been active on social media this year: *The Philadelphia 76ers: Nerlens Noel (Philadelphia 76ers) is the top-active player on Twitter, with more than 2.3 million followers and a 140-percent increase from the first week.
Noel leads the league with 1.5 million followers on Twitter.
*Dallas Mavericks: DeAndre Jordan (Dallas Mavericks) is second with 1 million followers.
*Los Angeles Lakers: Kobe Bryant (Los Angeles Clippers) has the third-most followers on social with more the second-most.
*Minnesota Timberwolves: Ricky Rubio (Minnesota Timberwolves) is third with 1,857,000 followers.
He’s followed by Minnesota Timberwolves guard Kevin Love, who has 1,632,000.
*Indiana Pacers: Paul George (Indiana Pacers) is fifth with 1m followers.
That makes him the fifth-most active player on social.
*New York Knicks: Carmelo Anthony (New York New York Knicks) has more than 1.8 million followers, which is the most on the roster.
*Chicago Bulls: Taj Gibson (Chicago Bulls) is fourth with 1s2.9 million followers with more followers than Anthony.
*Washington Wizards: John Wall (Washington Wizards) is 10th with 1st place on the Wizards’ Twitter rankings.
*Atlanta Hawks: Kyle Korver (Atlanta Hawks) has a total of 1.2 million followers that puts him fourth on the Hawks’ list of players active on twitter.
*Portland Trail Blazers: Damian Lillard (Portland Trail Blazers) has 2.7 million followers as well.
Lillard is the fifth most active player.
*Golden State Warriors: Draymond Green (Golden State Golden State) is sixth with 1million followers.
He’s followed in the top 10 by Dray, who had 1.3m followers on his own.
*San Antonio Spurs: Kawhi Leonard (San Antonio San Antonio) has 3.2m followers and is second on the Spurs’ Twitter ranking.
*Phoenix Suns: Goran Dragic (Phoenix Suns) is seventh with 1mill followers.
Dragic is the ninth most active NBA player on twitter, trailing only Kevin Durant (13th) and Dwight Howard (14th).
*Golden Grizzlies: Ty Lawson (Golden Grizzlies) is 12th with 2.5m followers, trailing LeBron James, Steph Curry and Chris Paul.
Lawson is the 13th most active member of the San Antonio Spurs.
*Utah Jazz: Rudy Gobert (Utah Jazz) is 13th with 856,000, ranking him 13th on the Jazz’s Twitter ranking, ahead of Zach Randolph (15th).
The team’s ranking is based on the number of followers the player has on social and not his number of Twitter followers.
The Jazz are tied for 13th in Twitter followers behind the Atlanta Hawks, Los Angeles Lakers and San Antonio.
*Boston Celtics: Kevin Love (Boston Celtics) has 884,000 following him on Twitter and is tied for 17th on their Twitter ranking with a total 2.1 million followers behind Derrick Rose (16th).
Love is the 18th most on social for the Celtics, behind LeBron James and Kyrie Irving.
*Houston Rockets: James Harden (Houston Rockets) has 786,000followers on Twitter with 2 million of them coming from his own Twitter account.
Harden is tied with Westbrook for the most tweets with 8,904.
Harden also leads the NBA with 2,848,000 Twitter followers, behind Westbrook and Ky.
